It is not uncommon for teachers to intentionally sit disruptive boys near "well-behaved", high-achieving girls so the latter will help or otherwise exert some influence on the former - like it's the girl's job for some reason?! Being the girl in that situation means putting up with a tonne of shit. Of course it interferes with your ability to learn. And if you lose your patience and put one toe out of line, YOU are the one punished.

To parents of girls: Listen for this pattern in your daughter's tales from school. Intervene if she's always expected to be a "good girl" or is made the classroom babysitter. The high-achieving boys are allowed to focus on their studies. They are allowed to have high spirits and be a bit rambunctious, and they're allowed to make mistakes and lose their temper as they grow into self-assured young adults. Your daughter deserves that as well.
