I have been an AI developer for a very long time, and I agree with what you're saying. There are small, interesting ways to use AI to make our lives a bit easier and to find insights in data so we can solve important problems. But nobody wants to work on those solutions. They want to launch startups that become unicorns in 6 months - at all costs. The incentives are all out of whack.
